Nature, well-being, relaxation and art: key words of the Negombo Thermal Park, in the beautiful Bay of San Montano, located in Lacco Ameno. A truly fascinating setting where you can find psycho-physical balance: thermal and marine pools, the wood, the garden, the lush flowerbeds, the sea and the modern art installations (including those by Arnaldo Pomodoro and Lucio Del Pezzo).
The Park offers thirteen swimming pools, one of which is indoors, all fed by thermal water at a temperature of around 40°C. One of the main features of the park are the famous thermal showers, which are part of a path called "Templari" (Templars), and Onphalos, a tuff cave equipped with a thermal well where you can immerse yourself and three water jets for neck showers.
More than half of the beach of San Montano Bay is also part of the park, so good news for sunbathing lovers and for those who like to dive into the underwater nature.
The Negombo was initially designed as a botanical park. Hence, even today it is characterized by Mediterranean scrub, with myrtle, olive, cork plants, and Australian and American essences perfectly integrated into the flora (Metrosideros, Malaleuca, Macrozamia, Erytrina, etc.).
The present and future eco-sustainable philosophy finds its highest expression in the event that the park hosts in May: Ipomea, a market exhibition dedicated to the vegetal world of rare and unusual plants. Hundreds of visitors are enchanted by the colours of flowers and plants: over sixty stands to renew the cult of beauty, from gardens to vegetable gardens. Furthermore, during the event you can join the gastronomic games that the chefs, led by the starred Nino Di Costanzo and Pasquale Palamaro, propose with vegetable sprouts and wild herbs. The event is also a welcome opportunity to rediscover wild herbs, roots, flowers and shoots of our woods as a source of nutrients.
