Take a dive into the history of the oldest Spa in the world. Known since the first Greek settlers of Southern Italy, the thermal water spring was dedicated to Apollo and the Nitrodi nymphs. Today it is a multisensory park designed for well-being.
An ecological approach and a philosophy that puts the true essence of healthy living back into nature. The Parco delle Ninfe di Nitrodi is a corner of paradise with stunning landscapes, aromatic plants and thermal water located in Buonopane, part of the municipality of Barano.
It winds along the hill through the characteristic terraces of Ischia. Here olive, fig and pear trees alternate with Mediterranean shrubs: sage, rosemary, lavender, thyme, broom and laurel. The panoramic terraces are areas dedicated to relaxation and contemplation.
The spa complex offers showers and sinks where thermal water (at a temperature of 28°C) is supplied directly from the spring, without any storage and without any chemical-physical treatment.
In the Hydroaromatherapy Park it is possible to combine the therapeutic properties of Nitrodi water and those of essential oils. There you can sip therapeutic infusions. The water is classified as “mineral, hypothermal, bicarbonate, sulphate, alkaline and earthy alkaline”. Its therapeutic properties were recognized by the Ministry of Health with decree n° 3509 of 9 October 2003.
What are the benefits? The action of the minerals contained in the water leaves the skin smooth, radiant and clean. The richness of bicarbonate and the mineral content in Nitrodi water promote natural exfoliation by washing away the outermost layers of dead skin cells.
The Nitrodi spring water is truly a natural remedy and many people have found great benefit from its application on the skin. After a course of treatments with the spring water many skin conditions, such as psoriasis, have achieved excellent results.
Inside the Park the Bio Bar and the Bio Restaurant will delight you with draining and relaxing infusions. Wellness Drinks are created with plants and essences harvested at the first light of dawn at the moment of greatest balsamic power. For those who are hungry, the park offers cuisine with items coming from local sources. Simple dishes inspired by the ancient Greeks, whose diet was frugal but very rich from a nutritional point of view.
