Enaria, the organic Biancolella made in Ischia

Enaria is the first organic wine made in Ischia, vinified with 100% Biancolella grapes, therefore a DOC (mark guaranteeing the quality and origin of a wine). The first vintage produced is 2013. To date, around 5,000 organic wine bottles are produced per year.

The wine is produced by Cantine Mazzella, an ancient winery of Ischia, in partnership with Villa Spadara, an educational holiday farm in Forio.

The one-and-a-half-hectare vineyard is cultivated without pesticides or synthetic chemical fertilizers. Only organic treatments and pesticides of natural origin are used. It could not be otherwise for the first organic certified company on the island. Expert winemakers only use healthy grapes to preserve the uniqueness of the wine, a perfect blend of aromas and flavours of Ischia.
